Foot & ankle care for Fruit Heights and Davis County
Fruit Heights is small, residential, and pressed right up against the mountain, and the Baer Canyon trailhead at the top of town explains much of what we treat here. Baer is steep and rocky from the first quarter mile. Ankle inversion sprains, midfoot bruising, and Achilles tendonitis are the predictable results, particularly in hikers who go up hard in the spring after a sedentary winter.
The other half of what we see is ordinary and no less worth treating: bunions that have finally started to hurt rather than merely look wrong, toenails that keep growing in, and arthritis in the big toe joint that makes the last stretch of a walk miserable. Living at the base of a canyon exempts nobody from the everyday problems.
Because Fruit Heights is a small city with no clinic of its own, most residents are used to driving somewhere for care. The advantage of being eight minutes out is that follow-up stops being a burden — and foot and ankle care is unusually follow-up dependent. Post-operative checks, cast and boot changes, wound reviews, and orthotic fittings all work far better when the drive is trivial.
Baer Canyon and the Fruit Heights bench
Steep-canyon hiking is hard on the back of the heel and the outside of the ankle. If you have rolled the same ankle more than twice, that is not bad luck — it usually means a ligament healed long and the joint is now loose enough to give way on uneven ground. That is a treatable mechanical problem, not something to keep taping indefinitely.
Getting to the clinic from Fruit Heights
Come down the hill to US-89 and head south, or take Nicholls Road across to Main Street. It is a short, simple drive — roughly eight minutes door to door. Our Farmington clinic is at 473 W. Bourne Circle, Suite 2, Farmington, UT 84025. Free surface parking sits directly outside the building, and both the entrance and the exam rooms are on ground level. We also serve Kaysville, Farmington, and the Baer Canyon bench from this location.
Same-day appointments for Fruit Heights patients
An eight-minute drive means an urgent problem does not have to wait. Infected ingrown toenails, sudden severe heel pain, and suspected fractures are the three we most often fit in the same day for Fruit Heights patients. Call 801-451-7500 as early in the day as you can.
